***Studies have shown that recovery protocols work best when in alignment with the philosophies and personality of the individual. Traditional 12 step programs emphasize the necessity of a relationship with a "higher power", outside of yourself, whether practiced in a traditional religious structure or not.

What is the 12 step path?

The 12 steps are the most universally recognized approach to addiction of all sorts. Millions of people have had effective recovery through life changing experiences due to the protocols involved with 12 step workshops. People will learn to confront their fears, denials, and heal through the actions of forgiveness and service. There is tremendous support through fellowship of peers sharing their experiences, strengths, and hope with each other.
**This support from "fellowship" is a tool that proves to be successful in any spiritual path that a client might choose to embark, whether traditional or not.

What is the NON 12 step path?

The Non 12 step protocols focus on the empowerment of the individual to take control of their lives and behaviors, resulting in a "self reliance" responsibility.

We encourage our clients to expand on whatever their alternative choices might be, and we are prepared to help support that path.

* Our Dharma Recovery is based on Buddhist Principals. One of the core practices is the work with the body and breath through meditation protocols. This practice brings peace to the mind and soul, resulting in the ability to handle fears, stress, and the discarding of suffering.

* Smart Recovery is the scientific approach that teaches tools to enhance and maintain abstinence, coping with urges and managing thoughts through behavioral modification.

All of these approaches can be used individually or in conjunction with 12 step methods.
